[07/20/2022] – Area51 Electronics, a minority-owned, global distributor of electronic components and hardware, announces a new global distribution agreement with CITEL, a leading supplier of surge protection products with over 80 years of manufacturing experience and reliability. Under the new partnership, Area51 Electronics now offers CITEL’s broad range of Surge Protective Devices (SPD) and Gas Tube Arrestors.

CITEL is a global industrial company that designs, manufactures, and provides solutions for protecting sensitive electrical and electronic equipment from transient overvoltage originating from lightning and power switching events. With experienced insight and observation, CITEL is committed to producing reliable surge protection solutions for AC, DC, Dataline and RF networks.

With enhanced surge protection and simplified plug-in modules, CITEL SPD can be used in a myriad of Industrial, Energy/Clean Energy, and Communication applications. These SPD components have a longer life expectancy, disconnection indicators, remote signaling of faults and are optimized for temporary overvoltage or TOV (VG version). SPD components are available in several mounting options including din-rail, making them easy to install in standardized distribution panels, control cabinets, and equipment.
