Amazing Microelectronic – a leading supplier of ESD protection solutions and specific analog IC, including transceivers and EMI filters – offers their newest CAN bus transceivers for automotive applications. The AZKN9125P is designed to support a wider range of microcontroller units (MCU) in different working voltages, and the AZKN9215P has an excellent high level of EMC certification for ESD protection.
What is a CAN bus? A Controller Area Network (CAN) bus is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other’s applications without a host computer.
Amazing’s AZKN9125P is a ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 protected CAN transceiver IC with VIO input allows for direct interfacing with 1.8V to 5V microcontrollers. It serves as an interface between a CAN protocol controller (MCU) and the physical two-wire CAN bus and operates at 5V power supply. The device is compliant with the ISO 11898-2:2016 standard for CAN FD application.
Amazing’s AZKN9215P is a high-speed, robust CAN transceiver compliant with the ISO 11898-2:2016. The AZKN9215P is a ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 protected CAN transceiver IC with Standby mode for power saving. Like the AZKN9125P, this device serves as an interface between a CAN protocol controller (MCU) and the physical two-wire CAN bus and operates at 5V power supply.
Both parts feature the data rate of both driver and receiver up to 5Mbps to support the high-speed application of the CAN FD.
The AZKN9125P and AZKN9215P also feature the capabilities of the ±40V common mode range of the receiver and the low EME of the transmitter, which has been patented as Amazing’s intellectual property. The devices are robust CAN transceivers and offer ±42V fault protection to sustain the DC short voltage on the bus pins. They also feature ±400mA Latch-up immunity for all pins.
